General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination

The examination is taken by students at the end of their third year in secondary school, typically at age 16.

For many students, obtaining a good result on their 'O' level certificate is considered exceptionally important. They, and their parents, believe that it may determine a student's future. As a result, this examination is taken very seriously by many students.     O'level syllabuses have an international context and students are encouraged to study local examples. Pass grades for O'levels are A, B, C, D and E. .

IGCSE

  International IGCSEs are at the same academic levels as O Levels. There is an international context to the specifications and specimen materials. Assessment of content is by examination paper while practical skills may be assessed by coursework or written paper. Where there is is coursework it is teacher-assessed and will contribute to the candidates’ final grades. Pass grades for IGCSEs are A, B, C, D, E, F and G with A*.
