General Examinations

The general examinations conducted by this department are those which have been hold for a number of years. The main aims of holding general exmainations are: to champion the certain of a suitably competent workforce for careers, especially in government jobs in the Maldives, and to determine whether such professional are qualified enough. In particular, to make this examination instrumental in opening a pathway leading towards assimilation into educational and employment fields for those individuals lacking or who have had difficulty finding sucess within the public educational system

The second objective is to examine and confirm that the standard is present with regards to those particular affairs in which it is established that there be a certain standard in the public services offered in relevant government offices.

The third objective is to check whether the required skill and education is present in the performance of some religious activities (within the community) that must be conducted.

General examinations are conducted twice every year. At present the subjects in which people participate are:
    1.   Clerk Grade One
    2.   Clerk Grade Two
    3.   Secretarial
    4.   Leader of Friday Prayers.
    5.   Muezzin
    6.   Performance of Rites of Death.
